The lawyers at Carey & Danis have determined that those injured by Vioxx may still have claims against the maker of Vioxx, Merck, due to Missouri's 5 year statute of limitations for personal injury. A case against Merck for injuries caused by Vioxx would fall under this 5 year statute of limitations for personal injury in Missouri. Missouri Vioxx lawyers at Carey & Danis are willing to look at injury cases caused by Vioxx for residents of Missouri. Please be advised that quick action is necessary for injuries caused by Vioxx and you should contact one of the Missouri Vioxx settlement lawyers at Carey & Danis immediately to discuss your case.

Vioxx maker Merck will spend $4.85 billion to settle a significant number of lawsuits filed against it for injuries caused by the painkiller. In order to be eligible for this settlement, your case must have already been filed. Under the agreement Merck will set up two separate settlement funds to cover heart attack and stroke claims filed over Vioxx. However, due to Missouri's 5 year statute of limitation, you may still have time to file a case. Thus, contacting a Missouri Vioxx lawyer at Carey & Danis is imperative.

In order to be eligible for the settlement, Vioxx claimants will have to enter into a resolution process. Merck will set up a $4 billion fund for people who claim they suffered heart attacks as a result of Vioxx, and another $850 million fund for those who suffered ischemic strokes. The settlements will be awarded on an individual basis, and the amount of money each plaintiff ultimately receives will vary. Merck said that at this time, it has not determined how many former Vioxx users might be covered by the agreement. It should be noted that although this agreement does not cover those injured by Vioxx who did not file prior to the release of the settlement agreement, you still may have time to file under Missouri's 5 year statute of limitations for personal injury.
